Following the collapse of the ruling council and the subsequent loss of contact with Eden, the Marshal General decided that the heavenfleet needed a mobile command ship, allowing him to direct strategic operations without the need to remain on the Aurora Basilica. Capable of housing hundreds of strike craft, and dozens of smaller capital ships, the Unity also boasts a command and control suite matched in sophistication only by the Aurora Basilica's own. The on board observatory can coordinate and analyse the information flowing in from the autoscopes on every ship in the fleet, as well as those of the observatories and any other source, providing real time updates on events throughout forgotten space, and beyond. Diplomatic suites are provided for the benefit of visiting ambassadors, and the ship is protected by an elite detachment of wardens.
