It is only with extreme reluctance that anyone admits to these vessels being capital ships. Designed primarily as a short-range scout vessel these ships are little more than a mobile sensor platform with token armament of a single heavy plasma cannon. Built and fielded in pairs to allow for efficient exploration of a system without appearing overly hostile in the event they come across another civilisation.
