The Angel is an Ancestral design, the original fleet of which were found and repaired at a ruined airdock. Following the discovery of the Architect, a new fleet of these has been constructed, and they are deployed on every capital ship, as well as in major tribal settlements. A small number are used for inter-tribe transport, since they are faster than the airships and can carry more cargo; however their use within the planets boundaries remains tightly controlled.
